02 · Approach
The plan is written before lessons start, and every lesson ends with a note.
Quillfield Tutoring works from a written plan rather than an open run of lessons. The plan names the subject, the weekly pattern and the first topics, and a short note after each session shows a family what was covered and what comes next. How Quillfield works.

02.2 · What one term of lessons contains
- 01 Plan
- A written plan naming the subject, the weekly pattern and the first four topics, agreed before lessons begin.
- 02 Material
- The learner’s own textbook, syllabus and marked work. Nothing extra is bought and no separate curriculum is sold.
- 03 Notes
- A short written note after every lesson, and a fuller progress review in October, December and June.
- 04 Next step
- One named focus for the following weeks. Where a learner no longer needs lessons, the review says so.

The maths and science tutors
Four tutors teach at Quillfield. Priya Raman teaches reading and writing, and Thomas Albrecht leads SAT and AP exam preparation and study-skills sessions.

Lead maths tutor
Rebecca Hollins tutors pre-algebra through AP Calculus and runs most starting assessments. She works from the learner’s own course and writes a short note to the family after every lesson.

Daniel Okoro tutors middle-school science and high-school biology, chemistry and physics, drawing each idea on the board before a formula is written and teaching any missing maths step first.

01 How should a family choose a service?
Start with the six descriptions on the Services page. Where two look equally suitable, name both in the contact form, or book the starting assessment, which exists for that question.
02 Are the displayed prices final?
Yes. Each price applies to the session length printed beside it. There are no registration fees and no monthly contracts, and online lessons cost the same as lessons in person.
03 Does Quillfield promise a grade or test score?
No. Results depend on the learner’s own work and on things no tutor controls. Quillfield describes what will be practised, how often and at what price, and reports on it in writing each term.
04 Are lessons held in person or online?
Both. Lessons run in the Columbus study room or on a shared online whiteboard, with the same tutors, session lengths and prices either way.
