Eight photographs, in the order an engagement runs

Four parts, eight plates: the groundwork where a problem is written down, the build, the rooms where the work is discussed, and the handover. Each caption says what is in the frame and why it is worth looking at.

01 — Groundwork

What is written down before anything is built.

A laptop screen showing lines of colourful program code.
Program code on a laptop screen. Most automations the firm builds are short, readable scripts or configured steps inside tools a business already pays for, and every part is handed over with a note of what it does.
Two people working at a table with laptops, one of them writing planning notes by hand.
Two people at a shared table, one mapping a process by hand. The first session of most engagements looks like this: the current steps written out in order before anyone suggests a tool.

A laptop and a coffee on a pale desk, with crumpled drafts beside them. A written scope usually takes two or three drafts before both sides agree to it.

02 — Build

How a change is put together and tested.

Hands typing on a laptop in window light, beside a dark mug.
Hands on a keyboard in window light. An automation is built against a copy of the client’s own tools first and tested on a month of real examples before anyone relies on it.

03 — Rooms

Where the working sessions are held.

A bright meeting room with white tables, navy chairs, whiteboards and a wall screen above a herringbone floor.
The larger meeting room, with whiteboards on two walls and a screen for walking through dashboards. Workshops of up to twelve people are held in a room like this one.

04 — Handover

The last review, the documentation, and the room it is presented to.

A hand holding a gold pen over a silver laptop, beside a notebook and a phone.
A pen held over a laptop and a notebook. Draft recommendations are read on paper as well as on screen before they go back to the client.
Hands in a coral sleeve typing on a laptop at a dark desk, beside a plant.
Handover documentation being written up. Every handover includes a plain description of each change, the person who owns it and the way to switch it off.
