Supply voltage measured under load, continuity and polarity confirmed, insulation resistance tested, earth-fault loop impedance read at the far end of the affected circuit, and every residual current device timed. Suits A circuit that trips without an obvious cause, and anyone who has been quoted for a part without being told which reading called for it.

The consumer unit opened and inspected: every termination checked for tightness and heat damage, each protective device identified against the circuit it serves, residual current devices timed, and the board relabelled way by way. Ends with a written schedule of circuits. Covers one board; a sub-panel on the same visit is priced separately.

Suits A board that has never been labelled, a house bought without paperwork, and any installation where a fuse has been replaced more than once.

One circuit traced from the board to the fault: outlets, switches, junctions and terminations opened and inspected, the failed component identified and replaced where it is a like-for-like part, and the circuit tested before it is re-energised. Ends with a written note of what was found. A second circuit on the same visit is priced separately.

Suits A dead socket, a switch that has stopped working, or a circuit that trips as soon as one appliance is plugged in.

Supply and fit of a charge point on its own protected circuit, with the spare capacity at the board confirmed first, the cable route agreed, the protection selected to the device's requirement, and the finished circuit tested and documented. The price starts from the simplest surface run on a board with capacity to spare.

Suits A driveway or garage beside the building, and anyone told a charge point will be fine without the supply having been measured.

A survey of the incoming supply, the board and the circuits already on it, an assessment of the load the building actually draws rather than a like-for-like assumption, and a written comparison of the options with a figure against each. No charge, and no obligation. Repairs to the existing board are quoted separately if an upgrade is not chosen.

A room-by-room walk through with light levels read where it matters, the existing switching and dimming recorded, and a layout drawn showing fittings, switch positions and the circuits they would sit on.
