What the two forms on this website collect, why they collect it, how long it is kept and how to have it removed.

What the contact form collects
The contact form collects nine details: a name, an email address, an optional telephone number, the vessel type and the length band the enquiry is about, an optional current berth or home port, the service selected, the preferred way to be answered, and the message itself. Nothing else is requested and nothing else is required.
It is a general enquiry form and not a secure channel. Bank details, identification numbers, insurance papers and registration documents should not be sent through it; Ashwell Foyle Yachts asks for those separately, once a viewing, a sea trial or a brokerage listing has actually been agreed.
What the subscribe form collects
The showroom-notes form collects an email address and nothing else. No name, no telephone number, no berth and no postal address is asked for.
An address given to that form is used to send the occasional showroom note — what has come onto the brokerage floor, when the pontoon is closed for winter work, how survey weeks are scheduled — and for nothing else.
Why the information is collected
Contact details are collected in order to answer the question that was asked and, where a viewing, a sea trial or an appraisal is being arranged, to agree a time and a berth for it. Subscribe addresses are collected in order to send the notes that were asked for.
Neither form is used to track a visitor across other websites, and neither is used to assemble a profile of a visitor's means or of the boats that visitor has looked at.
Who else receives the information
A message sent from this site passes through the hosting provider that serves these pages and the email service that delivers it. Each provider receives only what it needs in order to deliver the page or the message, and neither is given an enquiry for any purpose of its own.
No advertising network, analytics service, social platform or third-party boat-listing portal receives anything submitted through either form. Where a surveyor, a yard or a delivery skipper has to be engaged for a particular boat, only the detail that work needs is passed on, and the sender is told first.
How long it is kept
Contact messages are kept while the enquiry is live and for the limited period needed to answer what follows a viewing, a sea trial or an appraisal. Where a sale or a brokerage listing goes ahead, the paperwork attached to it is kept for as long as the law requires of a broker and no longer.
A subscribe address is kept until the subscriber asks for it to be removed.
Security, and its limits
Pages and forms on this site are served over an encrypted connection, and access to received messages is limited to the brokers who answer them.
No transmission over the internet and no stored record can be guaranteed absolutely secure. That is a limit of the medium, and stating otherwise would be false.
Choices a visitor has
Completing either form is a choice. Nothing on this site is hidden behind an email address: every boat description, every published fee and every page here can be read without giving one.
A subscriber can stop the notes at any time, and doing so does not affect a viewing, a sea trial or a listing already under way.
Asking for removal
A request to delete a contact message or a subscribe address goes through the contact form, or by reply to any note the brokerage has sent.
The brokerage confirms the removal directly rather than leaving the request unanswered. Where a record has to be kept to meet an obligation that follows a completed sale, the brokerage says so instead of deleting it quietly.
Contacting the business about privacy
Privacy questions go to the same email address as every other enquiry, which is on the contact page and in the footer of every page here.
This notice is revised whenever the brokerage changes what it collects, how long it keeps it or who it is shared with, and the effective date above moves with it.
