About the shop
Keel Street Auto Works is an independent repair shop in Dayton, Ohio, working on the cars and light trucks people already drive.
The shop takes in cars, SUVs, pickups and vans for maintenance, diagnosis and mechanical repair. The work is done on the premises, on two lifts and one diagnostic bench, and the technician who inspects a car is generally the one who repairs it.
Every job starts with the car rather than with a parts list. What the car is actually doing, what the tests show and what the owner wants to spend are settled in that order, and the estimate follows from them.

The price is agreed before the work
A from price is a starting figure. The figure that matters is written on the estimate, and it does not move afterwards without the owner being called first.

The test decides the part
A fault code points at a circuit, not at a part. Nothing is replaced until the suspect component has been tested, so the first repair is the one that fixes the fault.

One technician, start to finish
The job is not passed along a line. Whoever inspects the car carries it through to the road test, so nothing is lost between the estimate and the bay.

Get in touch
Send the vehicle and what it is doing through the contact form. The reply says when to bring it in and roughly how long the shop will need it.

Drop off and inspection
The car is inspected, tested and scanned. This is where the finding and the price are agreed.

The repair is made
Work is carried out in the bay to the manufacturer's specification. Anything new found along the way is phoned through before it is added.

Collect and check
The car is road tested before collection and the old parts are there to see. A follow-up check on the same repair is part of the same job.
What the shop does not do
Keel Street Auto Works maintains and repairs vehicles mechanically. It does not do collision or body repair, paintwork, transmission rebuilds or performance tuning, and it does not sell tires. Where a car needs one of those, the shop says so at the inspection rather than taking the job on.
