A warm bath with a shampoo matched to the coat, a rinse until the water runs clear, a towel and low-heat dry, and a full brush-out from skin to tip. Nails are trimmed, ears are wiped clean, and the feet, face and sanitary areas are tidied with scissors. The coat length is left as it is, which makes this the service for dogs between haircuts and for short or smooth coats that are never clipped.

Time and fit About 90 minutes. The price covers dogs up to 40 lb; for larger or heavily coated dogs the desk confirms the price before the appointment is booked.

Everything in the bath and tidy, followed by a clipper and hand-scissor haircut to the length and shape agreed at drop-off. Owners are asked to describe the finish they want, or to show a photograph, and the groomer repeats back what will be cut before the dog goes on the table. Breed trims, puppy cuts and short practical clips are all priced the same.

Time and fit 2.5 to 3 hours. Where the coat is matted close to the skin, a safe result may mean a shorter clip than planned; the groomer explains this at drop-off and nothing extra is charged without the owner agreeing first.

A bath with a conditioning rinse that loosens undercoat, a high-velocity dry that lifts dead hair away from the skin, and a thorough rake and brush-out section by section. It is designed for double-coated breeds such as shepherds, huskies, retrievers and corgis. It removes a large amount of loose hair on the day; it does not stop seasonal shedding, and the grooming room does not suggest that it will.

Time and fit About 2 hours. Suits double-coated dogs; it is not offered as a substitute for shaving a double coat, which the groomers generally advise against.

A short first visit for puppies between 10 weeks and 6 months old. The puppy has a quick bath, a quiet dry at low speed, the tips of the nails trimmed and a light tidy around the eyes and feet. Most of the time goes on getting used to standing on the table, having paws handled and hearing the dryer. If the puppy has had enough, the visit ends early and the price does not change.

Time and fit About 45 minutes. Puppies need to be up to date with the vaccinations their vet has scheduled for their age.

Nails are trimmed and filed smooth, the hair between the pads is cut back so the dog has grip on hard floors, and a plain unscented paw balm is worked in to finish. Long nails are shortened a little at a time, because cutting an overgrown nail back in one visit risks the quick; a dog with very long nails may need two or three visits a couple of weeks apart.

Time and fit 15 to 20 minutes, for dogs and cats. Offered on its own or added to any other service at the same price.

A bath or a waterless clean, depending on how the cat copes with water, then a gentle brush-out, the removal of small mats, a nail trim and a sanitary tidy. Sessions are booked on Wednesdays, when no dogs are in the building. Cats are handled calmly with short pauses, and no sedation is ever used.

Time and fit About 90 minutes. If a cat becomes too distressed to continue safely, the session stops, the owner is called, and only the work completed is charged.
