Straight answers
Before we take the leash.
The practical details matter. Here is how we handle access, weather, groups, care notes, and first visits.
Which Portland neighborhoods do you serve?
Our regular route covers Buckman, Kerns, Laurelhurst, Sunnyside, and Richmond. Nearby streets may fit depending on the day's route; send your address and we will answer honestly.
How do you choose a pack?
By walking pace, communication style, size where it matters, play preference, and comfort—not appearance. Every dog begins with a solo introduction and no group exceeds six.
Do you walk in rain or heat?
Portland rain usually means towels and a slightly different route. Heat, smoke, ice, or unsafe air can shorten the outdoor portion; the remaining time becomes indoor enrichment and care.
How do you enter my home?
At the meet-and-greet we agree on a lockbox, secure key, or your preferred access method. Access instructions stay limited to the assigned care team.
Will I always have the same walker?
You will have a small familiar team, not an anonymous rotation. Your primary walker handles the usual route; a named backup meets your dog before covering a visit.
What arrives after a visit?
A timestamped report with route and duration, bathroom notes, water or food details, energy and mood, anything unusual, and at least one visit photo.
Can puppies and senior dogs join?
Yes, through one-on-one puppy visits and unhurried senior strolls. We match duration and activity to the dog rather than force them into a standard walk.
What happens on the first daycare day?
We begin one-on-one, introduce one compatible dog, and widen the group only if body language stays comfortable. A dog who needs more space gets a smaller group.
How do cancellations work?
Visits cancelled by 6 p.m. the prior day are not charged. Later cancellations are charged in full because the care time has already been reserved.
Do you give medication?
We can follow written instructions for routine oral or topical medication. We do not provide injections or emergency veterinary care; urgent concerns go directly to you and your listed veterinarian.
Is the meet-and-greet a booking form?
No. The contact form sends a request so we can learn about your dog and confirm fit. Nothing is scheduled or charged online.
What should I prepare?
A secure harness or collar, a non-retractable leash, current care and veterinarian details, and any behavior information that helps us keep your dog comfortable.
