Service

Which service should be chosen?

Length and finish decide it. A scissor-led shape is the signature cut, a clipper-led shape is the clipper cut, and anything involving the beard is either the beard shape on its own or the combined cut and beard. Describing the hair in a message gets a straight recommendation back.

Are the listed prices final?

The listed price is what the counter charges for that service, and every one is printed on the services page rather than quoted on request. Where a price is marked “from”, it moves only when the work described is longer than the standard appointment, and the difference is said out loud and agreed before anything begins. Nothing appears at the counter that was not said at the chair.

What if the chosen service does not suit the hair?

The barber says so and names the one that does, before starting. That applies at the chair and in the reply to a message. Nothing is begun on a service that will not work and nothing is charged for a service that was not carried out.

Contact

Does this website book an appointment?

No. The Book action opens the contact page and the contact form sends a message that a barber reads during opening hours, and neither one holds a chair by itself. A time is reserved only once the shop has replied and the day and the hour have been agreed, so a message sent at midnight is answered the following working morning rather than booked overnight.

Still not answered here? A message describing the situation reaches a barber directly. Open the contact page and a barber replies during opening hours.

Can a particular barber be requested?

Yes, and naming the barber in the message is the whole of it. If that barber is not working on the day being asked about, the reply says so and offers the days they are, rather than quietly putting the appointment with somebody else. Every barber takes every service on the board, so being offered a different chair is never a downgrade.

How are changes and cancellations handled?

A message through the contact form or an email as early as possible is all that is needed. The shop asks for as much notice as can reasonably be given so the time can go to somebody else, and it does not charge for a cancellation.

Practical

What should be done before the appointment?

Nothing is required and nothing needs buying beforehand. Arriving with the hair dry and worn the usual way genuinely helps, because the barber can then see how it actually falls rather than how it falls ten minutes after a wash, and the shape is set up around that. Five minutes early is enough time for the consultation to happen unhurried.

What happens to the details in the form?

The name, email address, telephone number and message go to Sable & Fourth Barbers so that a barber can reply, and they are not used for marketing unless the subscribe form was filled in separately. The privacy notice sets out how long they are kept and how to ask for them to be deleted.

Talk to the shop

A ninth question is welcome

Anything not covered above reaches a barber through the contact form and gets an answer during opening hours.

The column

A short note when the shop changes something

Holiday hours, a barber joining or leaving, a price that moves. Two or three notes a year and nothing else.

The privacy notice explains what happens to the address.
