A plumbing call, drawn before it is quoted

Trueline Plumbing Works measures a system before pricing work on it. The photograph below is annotated with the four things a plumber looks at first, and the key beside it names every one.

A propane torch flame held against a copper pipe joint, the solder seam bright at the shoulder of the fitting and the pipe run continuing past it
Soldered copper joint, supply run, annotated

Key to the annotated photograph

  1. 01 Torch flame held on the shoulder of the fitting
  2. 02 Copper supply pipe above the joint
  3. 03 Solder seam at the cup of the fitting
  4. 04 Isolation valve upstream of the work

The four keyed points are the first four checks on a diagnostic visit. Each one is looked at before anything is opened up.

How a call is run

A visit starts with measurement rather than with an opinion. Static pressure at the main, flow at two fixtures, the meter watched with every outlet closed, and the state of the shut-offs and the traps are all read and written down before any part is priced. What follows is a scope on paper with a figure against it, and nothing outside that scope is carried out without a separate approval.

From the job file

Three plates from the gallery. Each one is labelled with the work it shows and where that work usually sits.

The team

Four roles cover the six services. A preferred plumber can be named on the contact form and availability is confirmed separately.

  • Pliers working on a connection at the top of a domestic water heater

    Marcus Ferrell

    Owner and lead plumber

Leads diagnostic and repipe-assessment work and writes up the symptoms, the readings and the options for every job he attends. The role separates what has been measured from what still needs measuring, and does not promise a repair result before the pipework has been looked at.

  • Water running from a modern kitchen mixer tap into a stainless steel basin

    Tanya Okonjo

    Service coordinator

Turns enquiries into useful job notes by confirming the property type, what the enquiry concerns, the postal code, access needs and where the shut-off valve is. This role explains the next response window without advertising round-the-clock or guaranteed emergency work.

What customers said

  • The scope for the diagnostic visit was explained before anything began, and the readings were left behind in writing. The published starting price made the decision straightforward.

    D. Whitfield · Diagnostic visit · February 2026

  • The plumber flushed the tank, drew the anode rod and showed me what was left of it. He put the age of the heater in writing and did not try to sell me a new one.

    M. Castellanos · Water heater service · March 2026

  • Two figures came back, one for a partial repipe and one for the whole house, each with the disruption set out beside it. There was no charge for the survey and no pressure afterwards.

    L. Tran · Repipe estimate · August 2026

Four questions

How should a visitor choose a service?

Start with the service descriptions and prices. Contact the business when two options appear equally suitable.

Are the displayed prices final?

Published prices apply to the stated scope. Any “from” or custom price requires a confirmed estimate before work begins.

What should a first-time visitor prepare?

Provide the property type, a concise description of the issue and safe access information. Do not attempt a hazardous repair before the visit.

Can a visitor request a specific staff member?

Yes. Use the contact form to name a preferred staff member; availability is confirmed separately.

Notes from the workshop, occasionally

An email when a seasonal reminder is worth sending, such as lagging an exposed run before a freeze or flushing a water heater. No fixed schedule, and one link in every message removes an address from the list.
