Four people run the shop at 118 Larkin Street. The six services are divided between them, so every service has a named member of staff attached to it and a visitor always knows who that would be. Owner and buyer · Harness and collar fitting
Opened the shop in 2016 after eleven years buying for a farm and feed supplier two counties over. Chooses everything on the shelves and will not stock a food whose manufacturer refuses to say where it is made. Runs the harness and collar fitting bench, on the principle that the person who buys the stock is the person who knows how it is cut. The photograph above is not a picture of Marisol Trent.
Nutrition lead · Food transition plans and starter builds
Runs the food transition plans and the puppy and kitten starter builds. Came to the shop from six years on the floor of a veterinary practice’s dispensary, and is the person who will tell a customer that the expensive bag is not better for their animal. Aquatics and reptiles lead · Water testing and habitat planning
Keeps the fish house and the terrarium wall, and runs both the aquarium water testing bench and the reptile habitat planning hour. Has kept fish since she was nine and a 400-litre planted tank at home for rather longer than that. Stockroom and deliveries · Bulk treat bar
Books in every pallet and runs the Tuesday and Friday local delivery round across Bellingham and Ferndale. Rotates the bulk treat bins at the front of the shop so that nothing sits past its date, and keeps the full ingredient list on every shelf edge current. The contact form takes a question about a bag, a tank or a price and sends it to the shop. Book goes to the arrangements page; neither one confirms a time by itself.
An email address only, used for occasional notes about new stock, the treat bar rotation and the delivery days. No offers chased by a countdown and no third party.
It is published in the open, where anyone can copy it, so it is left short of its final polish and audit pass. The design chosen is fully audited and polished before it goes live.
