Three rooms, a pool and a quiet lounge

Fernhollow Day Spa opened on Birch Mill Lane to give a small number of visitors an unhurried day and to publish what each part of it costs. This page explains how that works in practice and where it stops.

The approach, in three acts

  • 01 Welcome
  • 02 Method
  • 03 What to expect
  1. Act 01

    Welcome

Fernhollow Day Spa is three treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam room, a pool and a lounge on Birch Mill Lane, and it keeps the number of visitors low on purpose. A visit does not start with a contract: the date, the service and the number of people are named in a message, and a written reply confirms the amount before anything is held. A date can be held for seven days at no charge.

  2. Act 02

    Method

The practitioner asks before starting and checks again partway through. Pressure, any areas to leave alone and whether a scent is wanted are settled in the room, not guessed at. Towels and robes are warmed, the lounge is kept quiet, and nobody is hurried out at the end. Prices sit beside each scope on the Services page: three are final, two carry a “from” figure and one is quoted in writing, and the exact amount is confirmed before anything is agreed.

  3. Act 03

    What to expect

A visitor should expect to be told plainly what a visit offers. The spa is a place to rest and makes no claims beyond that, and anyone with a question about their own condition is asked to speak to their doctor before booking. Questions about access, comfort and the number of people are answered in writing before the visit, and a reply arrives during opening hours.

Three operating principles

  1. Publish the price

Every service carries a figure on this website. A “from” price is the lowest price for the stated scope, never an opening bid.

  2. Say what a visit will not do

The spa makes no claim that a massage or a session changes anything but how rested a visitor feels, and it does not book a visit it cannot give at the figure named.

  3. Confirm before holding

A message is an enquiry. Nothing is held until a person at the spa has replied and named the date, the scope and the price.

The four steps of an enquiry

  1. Read the scope and the price

The Services page states what each service includes and what it costs.

  2. Send one message

Name the service, the date and the number of people. A telephone number is optional.

  3. Read the reply

The spa answers during opening hours, confirms the scope and states the exact price.

  4. Agree the visit

Only then is the date set aside, and the confirmation comes in writing.

What the spa does not do

Expectations

The spa is closed on Monday and closes at 5:00 PM on Sunday, and it does not take visitors outside those hours. It makes no claims about the body, does not sell products during a visit, and does not add anything to the bill that was not agreed beforehand. A private group day takes up to eight people at one time. This website sends messages and shows prices; it does not confirm a visit.

Contact

Ask before a first visit rather than on the day

Access needs, comfort questions and the number of people are all answered in writing. A reply comes during opening hours.

Or write to [email protected] and the spa replies during opening hours.
